Im currently restarting my hair journey
Here's the backstory about that:
Im not sure of my hair type I just know I have curly hair, I will input pictures:
I don't have any pictures of my hair before any dye or heat damage.
But to start in middle school I started to do my own hair which consisted of straightening it almost everyday, no heat protectant or oils. Naturally my hair around the front started to break off, especially in the summer.
That did not stop me from dying my hair in 10th grade, bleaching it and dying it. First I dyed the front and back red, then I was tired of red so I went over it with black dye., still straightening my hair and everything.
In the summer after that I dyed my whole head, blush pink and cotton candy pink:
I LOVED my pink hair so much. but as you can see after multiple times of bleaching and coloring and also adding heat to it, was very bad for my hair.
11th to 12th grade I ended up bleaching my hair again to be blonde and pink:
and then why the end of senior year I went over it all with black dye again, which is also unfortunate. Still not taking care of my hair and straightening it almost everyday, never really having a routine for it either, also just cutting it short, into a bob several times.
After I graduated I still straightened it but not as much, but still not fully taking care of it.
Then at the end of June I started wanting to care for my hair I started doing mini twists and braids, without all the gel and blow drying my hair.
I haven't used any heat on my hair since, I have gotten a routine down, and I only trim my hair when needed, and I think it's starting to go well for me. I can't wait to have my hair the length I want it and for it to feel and look healthy. I also haven't gotten my hair professionally done since April and I think that is helping my hair as well, so it's not so much tension from tight braids and stuff. idk if this makes any sense.
I haven't taken any pictures of my hair right now yet but I think it's getting better.
